Lean is defined as a set of management practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness by eliminating waste. The core principle of lean is to reduce and eliminate non-value adding activities and waste. The key is to emphasize objectives like simplicity, flow, and balance. The following wastes (or Mudas) are actively eliminated in a lean process:
- Overproduction
- Inventory Excess
- Motion Waste
- Defects
- Time Loss
- Transportation Logistics
- Over Processing
Balance is the principle
Going green
Lean is founded on the concept of continuous and incremental improvements on product and process while eliminating redundant activities. “The value of adding activities are simply only those things the customer is willing to pay for, everything else is waste, and should be eliminated, simplified, reduced, or integrated”. Here at AMS, we strive to develop Green technology that has a meaningful impact on our customers and planet earth.Benefits
